The strawberry – a delicacy

It is strawberry time!

Fill your stomach with freshly picked juicy strawberries.

Or enjoy a bowl of honey-sweetened strawberries in their own juice.

What a feast for the senses!

Many berries have enormous healing powers

Raspberries, blackberries, elderberries, aronia berries, wild blueberries, schisandra berries etc.

Berries are rich in antioxidants and therefore crucial in the fight against free radicals and oxidation (causes premature aging and promotes diseases).

Berries contain amino acids, coenzymes and other phytochemicals.

Berries provide us with iron, magnesium, selenium, zinc, molybdenum, potassium, chromium, calcium and even traces of omega fatty acids.

Wild blueberries are in a class of their own and I will write an NL about them in the near future.

What berries can do...

...They protect us from harmful environmental influences. This makes them invigorating and rejuvenating.

...They protect our organs from damage caused by excess adrenaline.

...They improve the utilization of vitamin B12 and repair various damage in the brain. In doing so, they help protect the brain from serious diseases.

...They help with neurological symptoms and protect valves and ventricles in the heart.

...They contain polyphenols, which support the female reproductive organs and thereby promote fertility.

...They strengthen the adrenal glands and balance blood sugar.

...Freshly picked and unwashed, they provide us with important probioticsthat stimulate the formation of vitamin B12 in the intestine. Together with honey, this effect is increased.

Berries also have a clearing, calming effect on us when we are feeling confused, at a loss or unsettled.

Berries bring abundance to our stomach and mind, making it easier for us to be friendly and generous.

For all of these reasons, berries are also great for snacking, between meals, and whenever you feel like it. Make sure you’re eating berries all summer long.

Recipe

Berries with coconut cream

(2 servings)

Mix strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries and put them into two bowls.

Cream

The solid layer of 2 cans of coconut milk (do not shake before opening!)

A little fresh lemon juice

A little maple syrup or honey

¼ teaspoon grated ginger

A little vanilla powder (not vanilla sugar)

With a fork, whisk everything until you get a nice cream.

Spread it over the berries and garnish with a little grated lemon peel and finely chopped mint or lemon balm leaves.

Don't forget that healthy foods have great healing powers. This is why it is so important to eat fruits, vegetables, herbs and wild plants every day.

Let's enjoy summer and life!

Stay healthy and see you soon!
